I sent an email to my mailing list few days ago and mentioned Web 2.0. Now you may already be familar with it so you don't need to read on. But, I received over 100 emails from people who did not know what it is and many thought it was a software program. So, I want to clarify what Web 2.0 is.
I want to keep this simple. My definition of Web 2.0 is any website, blog or forum that allows you to interact, too leave information, especially a link to your website. They are social sites.
For instance, if you visit someones blog and they allow you to make comments and leave your web address, that's basic Web 2.0. If you visit a forum and make a comment and can leave a link to your website, that's Web 2.0. Myspace.com and FaceBook.com are Web 2.0 and other sites like Squidoo.com, gather.com, hubpages.com, clipmark.com, digg.com and scribd.com are all Web 2.0 sites.
Now why is Web 2.0 important?
Because the search engines are starting to give authority rankings to many of these Web 2.0 websites. In other words, they consider these sites to be important. Because of this, they give links from these websites importance. One link from a prominent Web 2.0 site can be worth 100 links from regular websites. Plus, these are one way links. You do not have to link back from your website.
Because these websites are interactive, you are able to set up accounts and post information and give links to your websites. Google spiders these websites often, as often as every minute. If you have posted relevant information and included a link to your website and used keyword phrases that are not too competitive, its possible for your listing to be ranked in the top ten of Google within hours.
Someone sees this link, clicks on it, goes to the Web 2.0 site, clicks on your link and ends up on your website.
So, the main advantage to these Web 2.0 sites is that they can send a lot of targeted traffic to your website and help you in your search engine listings and page rank and its free.
There is a lot of information on Web 2.0 on the Internet. I will also be covering this subject in my Coaching Club.
You are going to start seeing more and more listings in a Google search from Web 2.0 sites. They will soon crowd out the other websites. If you are depending on organic search engine listing for traffic to your website, you had better get real familar with Web 2.0 quickly.
Already, when you search on Google, you will see Wikipedia listings, news listings, maybe a video from youtube.com, which is also a Web 2.0 site. Google refers to this as Universal search and will fully take over by the end of this year.
To stay up with this, you will need to post videos on youtube.com, set up lenses on squidoo.com, submit images to flickr.com, use Google Base, etc.

When we talk about triple threats some old names come to mind, like Mickey Mantle, or Paul Horning. Today, with all the specialists in sports, there aren't many guys who pose a triple threat, excepting maybe Alex Rodriguez, who will probably hold a number of records before he retires.

The OC pepper stops the skell in his tracks, and causes a wee bit of misery because the skell will feel like he just stepped into hell. His breathing will become labored.

Is there anything more undependable than the average human memory?
The newspapers are full of stories about convicts getting released after years, or even decades, in prison. Sent there by eyewitnesses. Eyewitnesses that were absolutely positive that the defendant in the courtroom was the same person they´d seen doing the crime so many months or years before. (The only reason these guys are getting freed is because there´s so much more scientific evidence than there used to be. Three CSI TV shows put this on display every week.)
These witnesses aren´t making these mistakes because they´re careless or not paying attention or lying (okay, some of them are). Instead, the witnesses are testifying to what they honestly believe they remembered.
But, their memories were wrong.
It turns out that the average human memory is not fixed as if it were carved in marble. It´s more like a work in progress. The memory first goes in and is pretty good. It pretty well matches what the witness understood to be going on. But with subsequent information, the earlier memory sort of gets adjusted to match the more recent info.
And, don´t even getting started with memories examined under hypnosis. This process can recover really good stuff or function as a sort of memory tilt-a-whirl or maybe both.
So, if you can´t depend on your memory, what can you depend on?

Innocent Bystander At A Catfight
I was walking around at a gun show recently where there was enough firepower to invade at least some country in the Caribbean, and maybe a country or two
elsewhere. The place was packed with people, and the cash registers were ringing. I saw people walking out of the building with enough toys to hunt with for
the next twenty years.
A very small Asian man about sixty years of age had three rifles slung over his shoulder and a very large pistol on his hip. I wouldn't want to engage him on his turf. I saw a huge number of women buying pistols, and not small little toy pistols either.
One very talkative guy was selling a lot of pistols to women.
I decided to listen to him, and he had a real good pitch. I'd say he was selling over half the women he was talking too.
Then one woman started giving him a hard time. She was not there to buy a gun or look at a gun. She was there to be disruptive, and I have been through this experience before when I have had a booth.
She was laying out all the trite arguments about guns, and he was patient, answering all her attacks. After a few minutes a young woman let herself in the booth. She listened to the anti gun woman for about a minute, and told her to move on.
The anti gun woman didn't budge, and continued her rant.
The young woman asked her to leave again, and again she was ignored.
Just then three women walked up to the booth. The young woman started showing them different models, and making recommendations. The loudmouth woman butted in, and said, "Give me one good reason for buying a gun."
The young woman stepped back, pulled off her sweater, and I gasped. She had several scars clearly visible. She then told the story of an assault in which she was stabbed 22 times. After she finished she asked the loudmouth if that was good enough for her. The loudmouth disappeared quickly.
I learned how to deal with these anti gun anti personal protection people a long time ago. But this young woman had her own way of dealing with the situation.
Guns are a last resort in my book, but I would never tell anyone not to get one if they felt they needed it.
Just remember that if you fire a gun, there is no getting that decision back.
Most of the time you can take down a skell with a stun gun, pepper spray, and surprise.
